Pastoral House System
We believe that every student deserves the highest standard of pastoral care possible in order to maximise their achievement. The Carlton Academy has a House system in which each student belongs to their own House Tutor Group.
Each House is led by a member of the school Senior Leadership Team, with a Head of House and House Support Assistant working very closely with students and the House Tutor Team. The House Tutor Groups meet every day for 25 minutes, during which time they undertake a structured programme of activities including a House challenge led by the House Achievement Coordinators, Numeracy Ninja work, Literacy challenges, weekly Tutor check-ins and an online Whole School Assembly in addition to their weekly House Assembly.
Vertical Tutoring
Each House Tutor Group consists of a mix of students from Years 7 to 11. This provides a supportive, family-focused environment, and quickly builds relationships between all students across all years.
