A Level Results Day 2025

Students celebrate record A-level results at The Carlton Academy

Sixth Form students at The Carlton Academy, part of the Redhill Academy Trust, are celebrating record A-Level results with 24.6% of grades secured at A* to A and over 51.4% being A* to B.

Now, more than 50 students will be progressing onto university, with a significant number heading to Russell Group Universities, whilst others have successfully gained apprenticeships.

Head of Sixth Form, Ms Amy Jennings, said: “Our students have worked immensely hard to achieve these results: the time, energy and passion with which they worked was remarkable and it has been a privilege to see the class of 2025 develop into strong and independent adults that are clearly ready for any new challenge that awaits them. We congratulate the individual success of every student, and we are immensely proud of their achievements.  These results are a true reflection of their determination and potential. We wish our students every happiness in the next exciting step of their lives.”

Mr Gary Hillyard, Head of School at The Carlton Academy said "This year group have worked exceptionally hard to push their limits and achieve this amazing success.  I am so proud of every one of them.  They have culminated their time at The Carlton Academy by setting the bar for future year groups and achieving a set of results that they both deserved and can truly revel in.”

With many Carlton students now heading to universities across the country, the selection of subjects being studied is vast, ranging from Hispanic Studies and History, Computer Science and Hospitality Management, to Biochemistry, Nursing, Physics and Maths, Physiotherapy, Law, Fine Art and Environmental Science. 

Successes include Libby Smith (A* grades in Biology, Psychology and Sociology) who has secured a place at the University of Warwick studying Biomedical Science.  Libby said that “I am so happy that I chose The Carlton Academy Sixth Form for my Post 16 journey.  The support I have received throughout has been incredible.” Binobi Bear (A* grades in Biology and Chemistry and A grade in Physics) has also secured a place at the University of Warwick to study Biochemistry.  Binobi said: “By far the best asset of our Sixth Form is the teachers.  They have offered so much support and motivation to achieve my very best”.

Fatouma Ali, who achieved an A* grade in Health & Social Care, a B grade in Sociology and a D in Psychology, will be studying Nursing at the University of Nottingham.

Philip Parkosz, Head Boy, who achieved A grades in History, Spanish and a B in English Literature will be going on to the University of Nottingham to study English.  He said: “There has been a real sense of community and support throughout my time in Sixth Form”.

Eve Turnbull, who achieved an A* in Physical Education and A grades in Biology and Chemistry, will be studying Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University said “my teachers have been a source of support and inspiration throughout my time in Sixth Form, and the courses I studied were high quality to prepare me for my future.”

Breclan Ingleton, who achieved an A* in Maths, A in Further Maths and Physics, and B in Chemistry, has secured a place at the University of Nottingham to study Mathematics.

Other destinations include Finlay Hoult who is going to study History at the University of Leeds, Daisy Harding who will study Physics at the University of Nottingham along with Ewan Goddard who will study Chemical Engineering and Lola Hill who is going to study Fine Art at Loughborough University.
