Why choose TCA Sixth Form?

The Carlton Academy is about ambition to be the best and that applies to students and staff. Our students are backed by a dedicated Post 16 Centre as well as access to specialist facilities across the site. A recently refurbished common room, ICT work room, photography technology and our fantastic new study centre support the drive for success. Even more important than the physical resources are the staff who work here; all of whom are passionate about giving you the advice and support you need to achieve your best.

Making the right choice

Moving into the Sixth Form is a big step. It’s important that you make an informed choice and take advice from your teachers, parents and friends already studying beyond Year 11. Teachers and support staff will always be prepared to discuss your choices and answer any questions you may have.

High standards. High expectations.

We take academic achievement and standards seriously. It means all students have to be prepared to make studying a priority. You will be joining a community of like-minded people who are determined to achieve the very best grades they can – and we will expect you to do the same. Good attendance and punctuality are just as important in the Sixth Form. A good attendance record is an absolute requirement for continuing with any course. There is no formal uniform, but you will be expected to dress appropriately. The Head Boy and Head Girl, their Deputies, and senior prefects, play a major part in the life of the Academy. Sixth Form representatives meet regularly with the Assistant Principal responsible for the Sixth Form to discuss a range of day-to-day issues.
