I would like to warmly welcome you to The Carlton Academy’s website.

The Carlton Academy opened as an academy on 1 September 2011, sponsored by Redhill Academy Trust.  As principal of the Redhill Academy for the past ten years I strongly believe that successful schools have four key characteristics;

  • Valuing and celebrating academic achievement
  • Consistently good and focused teaching
  • Widening students’ experiences through a range of extracurricular activities including sports, music and the performing arts.

As we look towards the End of Term there is much to celebrate and look forward to. This Term has been packed full of great work, brilliant engagement of students and a very positive ‘can do’ atmosphere in school. This week, we held our Elections to the Gedling Youth Council and we also held our first ever ‘Make it Count’ Event, for Year 11 students on Wednesday 2 April. Over Easter, a great range of revision sessions are taking place for those about to undertake exams in Year 11-13 and we look forward to a great Summer Term.
