Welcome to The Carlton Academy website.

This is a very exciting time for us all, with the school having been judged as a good school (OFSTED 2017) and having once again achieved the best results ever in both Year 11 and Year 13 in summer 2021. We are ambitious about all that we do and focus our work on improving the academic outcomes of all our students. The Carlton Academy is fortunate to have wonderful facilities, exceptional staff, engaged governors, motivated students and supportive parents.

We are sponsored by The Redhill Academy Trust, and believe that these partnerships give us the opportunity to continue our improvements and for the school to be recognised both locally and nationally as a truly outstanding school. We are a member of the Redhill College of Leadership and Development and Teaching School Hub. We share the five Redhill core principles:

  • High expectations of all students - celebrated as part of our rewards system
  • Valuing and celebrating academic achievement - celebrated through 'Club Class'
  • Outstanding teaching for all students - developed through our extensive CPD offer and partnership with the RTSA
  • Widening students’ experiences through a range of extra-curricular activities including sports and the performing arts - as part of our wider curriculum and Opportunities Programme  which are recorded and celebrated through our Pledges
  • Equality of opportunity for all our students and staff
We have an outstanding curriculum offer, across years 7 -13 with as much breadth and opportunity as any large secondary school. Our curriculum extends to far more than the high quality taught curriculum and we encourage you to read about our Opportunities ProgrammeD of E, Carlton Values (DRIVE) , PledgesECO Days and our exciting Extension and Achievement programme. I hope that you enjoy browsing our website. If you cannot find the information that you need, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. I look forward to meeting with you soon.
