Social media is now one of the most popular forms of communication, used by both adults and teenagers alike. The Carlton Academy Sixth Form Twitter account (@Carltonsixth) is used to communicate with existing parents and students, ex-students and potential new students!

We post lots of information regarding applying to university – UCAS personal statement writing hints & tips, which university to apply to, which course, how to use the UCAS online system and information from various Higher and Further Education establishments. 

We also understand not everyone will be applying to university, so we also post lots of information about careers and apprenticeships, with guides to writing CV and job applications, plus employment fair information.

Not to forget the “social” side of social media, we tweet about both Sixth Form and school wide events, whether sporting or raising funds for our charities, plus inspirational quotes and information from Camps International, Student Unions etc.
