OFSTED

The Carlton Academy had a two-day section 8 inspection on the 9 and 10 November 2022.

The purpose of a section 8 inspection is to assess whether a school continues to be ‘good’ as indicated in our previous report in May 2017, or to ascertain whether there is evidence to suggest a school is above or below its original grading.

We are delighted to inform you that the inspection findings were very positive, and The Carlton Academy has maintained its ‘Good’ rating, continuing to be a good school.

Ofsted have recognised that the school sits proudly at the heart of the community and that pupils are flourishing. In describing what it is like to attend this school, Ofsted stated that staff know many pupils individually and encourage them to rise to high expectations, have positive and respectful relationships with staff and that pupils feel safe and happy.

Our students describe the school as diverse and inclusive, a place where everyone is accepted for who they are and that teachers will not tolerate any form of bullying or discrimination.
