Extension & Achievement
This programme is open to all students in the academy and has a rich history of providing a wide variety of experiences and events. Established in 2016, the programme aims to give students the opportunity to engage in a yearlong project that will see them form new relationships with their peers, undertake enriching activities to support the development of life skills and widen cultural experiences.
This half-term, students have participated in the Sports Leaders Award, where they have attended workshops to improve their leadership skills and qualities. These students have also led a sports leader session and will be delivering sports events to local primary schools in the upcoming summer term.
Next half-term, there will be orienteering sessions, giving students an opportunity to improve their map reading skills. A visit to a local country park will allow students to practice these skills in a competitive situation.
