Text and Email alerts

We encourage parents to make effective use of ICT tools to aid sustainable communication. Text alerts and email, often sent direct to a mobile 'smart' phone are the most common uses.

We use a product called 'SchoolComms' for our text and email alerts. We encourage parents to provide us with an email and mobile phone number, which we can enter into our secure database to ensure the correct contact details are being used.

If you need to update your contact details as you have changed your phone number or email address, please call the school on 0115 9550010 as soon as possible and ask to speak to our student records administrator.

SchoolComms App

SchoolComms has an App available to download from the Google Play or the Apple App Store - follow the guidance below

Step 1 – Navigate to Google Play or the Apple App Store and download the ‘School Gateway’ app - this can be done fron the link here where you will see the Apple and Google Play store icons

Step 2 – Select ‘New user’, enter your email and mobile number (this must be the email and mobile that we use to send messages to you) – your PIN number will then be sent to your phone. Enter your email and PIN and you will receive a welcome message.

In order to avoid missing messages set your phone up to display alerts.

Select Settings, Notification Center and then School

Once registered, you will;

  • receive instant notification of messages
  • receive messages even when there is no mobile signal – provided you’re connected to Wi -Fi
  • not be charged for sending replies back to the school
    be able to store and receive messages all in one place
