Student Email contact to parents

Please use the document here to help students access their school Email as staff can only respond to Emails sent to them from students using the school system.

Free School Meals - FSM

We issued vouchers for families on FSM last week to cover the period up until 8 May. We have now decided that these vouchers shall be used to cover the Easter holiday period to support families further at this time. Further vouchers will be sent out to you ready for the start of the summer term no later than Monday 20 April.

Easter Holiday provision for Key Worker families

We are required to provide provision for Key Worker children during the Easter holiday for those who require support due to work requirements. In order to help us plan this, please complete the form found here if you are a keyworker and will access this provision.

Arrangements for key worker families coming into school

Children who are coming into school should arrive not before 8:30 and no later than 8:45 and the day will finish at 3pm with students able to remain on site until 4pm if they need to do so. The day will start in the Theatre where we will register students and then begin the day. Students should come in normal uniform and bring their PE kit. Students attending will do so for the entire day, no half day attendance is permitted.

Our normal expectations of uniform and behaviour remain in place at all times. Anyone who has informed us they were self isolating and has not done this for the required 14 days will not be permitted on site and you MUST not come onto site if you live in a household with anyone showing symptoms or who has been diagnosed as having COVID-19. If you have indicated that your child is attending but they do not turn up, we shall contact you by 10:30am. If you have indicated that your child was attending but you have now decided not to send them, please inform us via Email to or reply to the text message you will receive from school, giving clear indication of your intentions.

When children are in school they shall be asked to wash their hands before and after every session and will be given clear rules about social contact and safe seating distances. Children found to not be following this advice will be sanctioned.

Two key documents have been provided for schools and parents for sharing today. These are linked below:

Critical 'key workers':

FAQs for parents:

What should students be doing at home in relation to work set by teachers?

We have taken steps to support continued learning for all students at this time. The academy uses Show My Homework as a tool for setting work outside of the school day. We will be using this tool as follows for your child during this period of closure:

  1. Teachers will set learning for students that they would usually teach each day using Show My Homework – this will include a description of the work to be done and all associated resources and guidance. It is expected that all students will do this work at home as normal. Year 7 to 9 have been given an exercise book in which to do this work. Year 10 and 11 students have been given their school books for use at home. We very much appreciate your support as a parent in engaging your child with the work being set by our staff at this time. If your child has not been in school recently and therefore does not have their books, it is sadly not possible for them to collect these from school at this time.
  2. Staff will endeavour to set work throughout this time. We will monitor this situation to the best of our ability.

The Email addresses for Heads of Department, Heads of House and our safeguarding, exams and office teams have been published on our website in the link below. This is in order for some contact to be made in the event of issues with work being done or any other specific issues or questions that you need to raise with the school. We have also put information about local and national support services available to families on our website. We will endeavour to monitor any incoming emails or voice messages as much as possible and get back to you wherever possible. We will continue to communicate to you through our website and email / text systems for major updates that you need to know. All updates on our website in relation to school closure will be via the news flash item on the front page of our site.

Additional Work for students

Beyond what staff are providing on Show My Homework, there are also a series of extra activities available here for students to do in Years 7 to 9 provided by all of our subjects. We also encourage all students and families to stay active to aid health and wellbeing.
