Parents coming onto school site

No parents should come onto the school at any time unless it is to drop off or collect a student with accessibility issues who cannot meet you off site. Staff will be monitoring this very closely and we ask for your full support in the interests of everyone’s wellbeing. All visitors will be asked to wear face masks during their visit.

Parents meeting staff

Any parent who wishes to meet with a member of staff can only do this by prior arrangement. Any parent who arrives without an arranged appointment will be asked to leave. This is in order to manage the site safely and ensure that we have meeting spaces available for pre-arranged meetings. If you wish to meet a member of staff you are asked to contact reception by phone in the first instance who will happily assist you.

Attendance

All students are expected to attend school every day. Please contact our Attendance team should you have any reason for absence and they will speak to you.

Face coverings - New update Tuesday 12 October 2020

You will have seen the announcement yesterday about local restrictions and actions to be taken. Gedling has been highlighted as an area under local restrictions.

As of Wednesday 14 October, face coverings are to be worn by all staff and students when moving around the premises and in all communal areas such as corridors, office spaces, queuing in the dining room and in the toilets.

From Wednesday, students need to wear face coverings on arrival each day so that we can ensure every student has one with them. We have a limited supply we can give to students but would ask for your support in supplying these. Students will wear face coverings to exit the building and site.

Students that are exempt from wearing one for a genuine reason should please bring a note on Wednesday to give to their tutor and they will be issued with an exemption card.

Face coverings do not need to be worn at break and lunch times if students are outside or eating/drinking.

Masks should be plain in colour and be placed in a sealable bag when not worn. Hands should be sanitised after removal.

We thank you for your support, Ms Egwuma - Head of School
